RFID is having its moment. UPS is tagging packages across its entire network, Walmart has moved from apparel to cartons, and the industry shipped more than 42 billion RAIN tag chips last year. None of that happened by accident.

It happened because of people. So our team at Xemelgo put together the RFID Top 50: 25 established leaders who built this industry, and 25 people from the next wave who are taking it somewhere new.

You'll find icons and pioneers alongside the innovators and rising stars running pilots, building products, teaching courses and turning tag reads into business decisions. Some are household names in our world. Some should be.

## How we built the list

We split the list into two groups of 25.

**Established Leaders.** Icons, Pioneers, Trailblazers, Architects, Industry Leaders and Established Voices: 25 people who built RFID and still shape where it goes.

**The Next Wave.** Rising Stars, Innovators, Accelerators, Pacesetters, Emerging Leaders and Emerging Voices: 25 people advancing adoption and bringing new ideas into practice.

**How we selected.** We looked for people moving RFID forward through technical innovation, successful deployments, and industry leadership. Our selections recognize both lasting contributions and growing influence across the RFID community.

The list alternates between the two groups, so you'll see a long-time industry builder next to someone shaping what comes next. Here's who made it and why.
